Understanding Down vs Feathers

Learn the key differences that determine quality and comfort

Down
Down

Down is a fine and soft feather found under the tougher exterior feathers of geese. It is fluffy and does not have quills.

Feathers come from the outer layers of geese and have quills.

Goose Down Softness Level

Each product is crafted with its own level of softness, categorized into three refined tiers

40% Down

Indicates the product contains 40% soft goose down and 60% goose feathers.

70% Down

Indicates the product contains 70% soft goose down and 30% goose feathers.

100% Down

Indicates the product contains 100% soft goose down with 0% goose feathers.

A higher down content results in a softer, fluffier, and lighter feel, delivering elevated comfort.

Premium Processing Standards

Turning raw material into ready-to-use goose down requires specialized steps and quality control.

01

Washing Process

The down and feathers are repeatedly washed and then sterilized using specialized equipment to ensure purity and hygiene.

02

High-Temp Drying

The down and feathers are placed into a high-pressure drying machine with 90°C heat for several hours to ensure complete sterilization.

03

Cooling Phase

After heating, down and feathers are carefully cooled to maintain their strength, loft, and natural properties.

04

Quality Sorting

After processing, down and feathers are sorted and classified into quality categories (100% down, 70% down, and 40% down).

05

Final Dusting

The down moves through a pre-dusting machine to remove remaining substances and dust, ensuring clean, hypoallergenic filling.
